Scrunched Flowers Tutorial

Hi Crafters,

I hope you have all had a lovely crafty weekend! I certainly have as I've got 7 cards made for my next show on Create and Craft on 27th January, I've really enjoyed going back to some older sets that were on back in April last year, and coming up with some new ideas!

As I promised in my last post here is a tutorial for the scrunched up flowers, sorry about the shadows on the photos but I had to work with my ottlite on as it was so dark in Durham yesterday!

1. Stamp and emboss 3 large blossom images and 2 small blossom images, you can just stamp and not emboss but you need to use a waterproof ink pad such as Versafine, cut out and place in a plastic container (optional but I find it best to contain some of the water!).

2. Spray both sides with lots of water until the flowers start to curl up

3. Once the flowers are really saturated with water, start scrunching them up I tend to hold the centre of the flower and then scrunch the petals up as you need to be careful that the centre does snap.

4. Once all of the flowers are scrunched up tightly start to carefully unravel them.

5. Now gently waft the flowers with a heat gun making sure you keep the heat gun moving so you don't over heat the embossing powder, this helps to dry the flowers and set the creases in them.

6. Assemble flowers as shown below, adding a jewel to finish.
Materials used: Stamps by Chloe Large Blossom, Stamps by Chloe Small Blossom, Stamps by Chloe WOW Shrinking Violet Embossing Powder, Pearl Paper ( Mine was from Ross Paper)

And here's a card which I've made with some red scrunched flowers, I'm slightly addicted to this technique now! Lol

Bye for now!
